CIRPeB, the Research Centre on Bioactive Peptides “Carlo Pedone”, is an inter-university organization having the aim to coordinate, to support, to represent researchers who work in peptide science, and to promote the advancement of research and training in this field.

The Centre, based in Naples – Italy, is entitled to Prof. Carlo Pedone (15.03.1938 – 15.09.2022) the Italian Scientist that founded CIRPeB in 1990 and led it until his retirement in 2010.

CIRPeB joins together researchers and peptide scientists from the University of Naples “Federico II” and from University of Caserta “Luigi Vanvitelli”, the two Universities based affiliated with the Centre, and expert scientists from anywhere in Italy.

People in CIRPeB have multi-disciplinary competencies in peptide chemistry, biology, immunology, nanomedicine, peptide materials, engineering, and medicine.

CIRPeB principal activities are:

• the support to pharmaceutical companies in their research projects through the establishment of research contracts.
• the diffusion of peptide science through the organization of important events such as national and international peptide workshops.
